Interweave: Innovations in
Contemporary Basketry
June 21 – October 4, 2008
Since the 1970s artists have
revolutionized basketry by using unexpected
materials and methods,
developing unique forms, and working in varying
sizes and scales. No longer
utilitarian, these baskets are sculptures and, like
other contemporary art forms,
are often thematic and imbued with meaning.
Present Tense: A Post-337
Project
June 21 – September 27, 2008
Present Tense features artworks and site-specific installations by
25 artists
who participated in the
recent art phenomenon The 337 Project, organized by
Adam and Dessi Price. This
exhibition was created to provide the opportunity
for Salt Lake, Utah,
and visitors from beyond to learn more about the after
effects of a community art
project like The 337 Project and to allow the
artists
to create artwork that
reflected their post-337 perspective.
