My Sister and Brother-in-law are both underground miners at the Barrick Gold Mine. My Brother-in-law was working at the mine when the quake hit. My Sister was at their home in Spring Creek NV. We checked with them to find out if they were ok. My brother-in-law said they did not even feel the quake at the mine which is very comforting. My Sister said their home was shaken up pretty bad, but she has not found any cracks or any broken windows. She also checked her propane tank and it was fine as well.
It was good to hear the report from the BYU Professor and know that the mines are pretty safe places to be. This kind of put our minds at ease.
