Website http://www.localfirst.org/ Categories Festival Meeting Description / Comments Independents’ Week, June 28th through July 5th, celebrates Utah’s locally owned and independent businesses each year over the week of July 4th. It’s the perfect time to inform Utahns about the importance of buying locally! Our theme this year is “Live Local,” and we’ll be hosting events and spreading the word throughout the week on how to “live locally” and why it matters to our pocketbooks, our economy, and the environment. Local First and Wasatch Community Gardens are pleased to present the “Eat Local Tomatoes Workshop” highlighting the benefits of gardening and eating local produce. This event will take place at the Grateful Tomato Garden at 7:00 PM. Tour the garden and get information about how community gardens work, where plots are available, and how to start a community garden.
