This summer you can help save lives and maybe drive off in a Mitsubishi Lancer!  Each presenting whole blood or platelet donor with ARUP Blood Services from May 23 to September 12, 2008, will be entered to win a two-year lease on a car from Ken Garff South Towne.  You can donate at one of ARUP Blood Services two donor centers or on a mobile blood drive. You can also qualify for bonus entries to win.

ARUP Blood Services is the sole blood provider to University Hospital, Primary Children's Medical Center, Huntsman Cancer Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children.  There are more than 40 hospitals in Utah but these four alone use around 25 percent of the blood in the state.

The summer is traditionally a difficult time to collect blood and meet the hospitals' blood-supply demands.   High-school blood drives contribute about 30 percent of the blood supply to ARUP Blood Services, and we lose those drives during the summer.  Many donors also go out of town during the summer, which can reduce the blood supply.
ARUP Blood Services and Ken Garff South Towne have teamed together this summer to motivate donors to give blood and help keep up the blood supply. Each participating whole blood and platelet donor will be entered to win a two-year car lease provided by Ken Garff Southtowne for each time they donate.

ARUP Blood Services has also teamed with Maverik to give away 100 $50 gas cards this summer. ARUP Blood Services will be giving away a gas card every single day during June, July, and August to one presenting blood donor. Each presenting donor to ARUP Blood Services during the summer will also be entered to win a gas card from Maverik. Come in and donate today!
